About Jen Villarreal

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker with several years of experience in hospice and medical social work—areas that remain very close to my heart. Working in these settings has shown me, time and again, the profound connection between mind and body. This has shaped my passion for incorporating somatic experiences and a polyvagal-informed approach into my practice.

I offer a safe, accepting, and compassionate space, whether virtually or in person. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate the experiences that have brought you into therapy. I meet clients exactly where they are emotionally. With an intuitive, person-centered approach, I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals.

Many of us carry past wounds within our bodies. When the body’s stress response becomes stuck in a prolonged state of fight, flight, or freeze, the original experiences often persist not as coherent memories, but as fragmented sensations and emotional imprints. This can lead to chronic tension, fatigue, changes in the heart, lungs, or digestion, as well as anxiety, overwhelm, and hypervigilance. Healing involves reconnecting with the body, restoring safety, and gently integrating these experiences.

I collaborate with you as I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness, attachment-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic experiencing, and psychodynamic therapy. Together, we will:

• Build resilience in the face of life’s challenges
• Reclaim a sense of peace and purpose by managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm
• Develop tools to navigate the demands of caregiving
• Rediscover joy, connection, and inner calm

My intention is to support your growth, healing, and transformation—at your pace, in your way.
