Perimenopause and Menopause
My work is rooted in lived experience, deep listening, and a belief that life’s transitions—especially the ones we don’t choose—can become powerful gateways to healing and self-discovery.
For many years, I worked as a Medical and Hospice Social Worker, walking alongside individuals and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. That work taught me how profoundly the body, mind, and spirit respond to change, loss, and uncertainty—and how essential it is to feel seen and supported during those times.
My own journey has included infertility, miscarriage, and menopause. These experiences shaped not only who I am, but how I understand women’s resilience, grief, longing, and capacity for renewal. Perimenopause and menopause are not simply physical transitions; they can stir emotional upheaval, old wounds, identity shifts, and questions about meaning, purpose, and belonging.
Many women experience mood swings, irritability, rage that feels unfamiliar, brain fog, anxiety, or depression. Others feel betrayed by their bodies as weight shifts, sleep is disrupted, sexuality changes, and aging becomes impossible to ignore. These experiences can feel isolating—especially in a culture that often minimizes or dismisses them.
My passion is helping women feel grounded, empowered, and at home in themselves during this chapter of life. I take a collaborative, gentle approach to our work together, honoring your pace and your nervous system. Life transitions often awaken memories or unresolved trauma from earlier chapters, and together we create a safe space to explore what is arising—without rushing, fixing, or overwhelming.
I draw from an integrative, trauma-informed approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Polyvagal-informed practices. This allows us to work not only with thoughts and emotions, but with the wisdom of the body itself.
Menopause is not an ending. It is a time when the body is highly responsive to positive change—a powerful invitation to release what no longer serves, tend to old wounds, and step more fully into your authentic self. As you become more grounded, you can move from uncertainty to empowerment, toward a life that feels meaningful, connected, and aligned with who you are becoming.

Individual counselling provides a safe and confidential space for you to explore personal challenges, develop coping strategies, and work towards self-discovery and healing. We address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.

Virtual counselling provides convenient and accessible therapy from the comfort of your own home. Using secure video conferencing, we offer individual, couple, and family counselling, ensuring you receive the support you need, regardless of your location.
To prepare for session:
- choose a quiet, comfortable location
- notify others in the home that you need some time alone
- bring some water/tea/coffee
- have a note pad and pen available
